In Vitro fertilization with own oocytes and donor sperm

In the in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, the oocytes are collected from the ovaries and fertilized with sperm in a laboratory environment - outside the woman's body. Once obtained, the embryos are transferred to the woman's uterus to implant and give rise to a pregnancy. The in vitro fertilization is indicated mainly for cases of unexplained infertility or obstruction or absence of tubes. In cases of advanced age of the woman (over 35 years), may be advisable to perform an ICSI instead of traditional in vitro fertilization.
